Christmas is a special time of year with many opportunities for making memories. Even if you’re feeling a little bit stressed with the amount of work that’s left to do and the number of holiday parties that you need to attend, it’s important to remember that the holiday season should be a time of giving, whether it’s to friends, family, or other people that are in need in your community. 

This holiday season consider how you can give back to your community. When you’re doing your grocery shopping next time, put a few extra cans of food, diapers, clothing, or toiletries in your cart and think about some basic items you could purchase that could help stock someone else’s cupboards and closets this winter. Local food banks are always in great need during the holiday season, as many families simply can’t afford to put meals on the table. Or, if you’d rather do something more hands-on, look into local organizations that serve meals to the homeless in the city, or make and hand out care packages to people that you see living on the street around town.  Finding an organization that you could work together with or make a donation to is a great way to give back this holiday season.
